As temperatures cool, and it gets darker earlier each day, slipping into a trusty fleece feels wonderfully warm and comfortable. But you ask, how sustainable is fleece? Thankfully, you don't have to turn your back on fleece—there are better ways to do it.

The plush comfort and versatility of fleece has rendered it a staple in every wardrobe. At Nau, we source—and often develop—fabrics that set a new standard for quality, performance and sustainability. We believe that creating the best products with the least environmental impact isn't a contradiction or compromise, but a design problem to be solved.

Hybernate Fleece Collection

Our Hybernate Fleece Collection is a more modern-day streamlined way to wear fleece. A soft sleek midweight fleece made from 100% organic cotton with rib detail inside cuff and hem on both styles—the hoodie also sports zip hand pockets with an adjustable hood.

We use 100% organic cotton because traditional cotton farming accounts for 24% of global insecticide sales and 11% of global pesticide sales according to the WWF. Unsafe use of these chemicals has a severe negative impact on the health of workers in the field and longterm negative impacts on the surrounding ecosystems. That's why we make the choice to buy organic cotton free of pesticides, herbicides and GMO's. We certify through accredited independent certification bodies, like GOTS and OCS, to ensure organic practices are followed. Shop Hybernate Fleece.

Pohlar High-Pile Fleece Collection

Made from recycled polyester, the Pohlar High-Pile Fleece Collection is a classic stand-alone fluffy sherpa fleece. Providing the ultimate warmth and comfort. The Pohlar High-Pile Fleece collection was designed to work on as many bodies as possible— these new styles are unisex.

Using recycled fiber decreases our use of petroleum, keeps waste out of landfills, and lowers our overall carbon footprint. Recycled polyester is widely available and offers the same performance, high strength and functional versatility as traditional polyester with a lower environmental impact. Using independent recycled standards like GRS and RCS, we certify to ensure we are doing our part to minimize the use of virgin resources in our synthetic fabrics. Shop Pohlar High-Pile Fleece.

Concerned About Microplastics?

The Guppy Friend Washing Bag is a scientifically approved solution again microplastic pollution from washing by reducing fiber shedding and protecting your clothes. If fibers do break, it filters them and doesn't lose any fibers itself.
